Phone Bhoot is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language supernatural comedy film
directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Excel Entertainment's Farhan Akhtar
and Ritesh Sidhwani. Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khattar, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and
Jackie Shroff star in the film.
Phone Bhoot is a deliberately silly Ghostbusters ripoff that isn't
nearly as amusing as it thinks it is. This mindless film drags on for an
unnecessary 130 minutes.
Galileo aka Gullu (Ishaan Khatter) and Sherdil aka Major (Ishaan Khatter) are
two good-for-nothing friends in Phone Bhoot (Siddhant Chaturvedi),

Major and Gullu are two unemployed young men who want to be exorcists and
ghost busters to make a living after growing up watching a lot of horror
movies. They live in a rented house and constantly pray to their close friend
'Raka' to help them alleviate their poverty using a statue of Raka they found
while digging across a hill. After obtaining permission from Raka, they decide
to host a ghost Halloween party at midnight and make the necessary
arrangements. Raka's glowing eyes abruptly shut down at midnight. Major and
Gullu illuminate the light source of Raka's eyes by connecting it to a live
wire in order to repair his eyes.
They enter a different realm of the dead during their unconscious state, where
they meet Ragini, a benevolent ghost who promises to help them achieve their
desires and wealth in exchange for a favor that she will ask them to do later,
which they are not supposed to refuse at any cost. Major and Gullu are both
smitten by her beauty and charm and agree to assist her with her business
deal. The agreement was to assist depraved souls in attaining moksha
(salvation) by exposing the criminals who had wronged those souls while they
were alive.
In exchange for this favor, Major and Gullu would receive a lump sum of money
and would be required to contribute a portion of their earnings to the
families of those depraved souls in order for the souls to be satisfied and
attain salvation. When Major and Gullu regain consciousness, they are
surprised to see Ragini, who appeared in their dream, in their home. They
realize now that they had wandered through the netherworld while unconscious.
