NEW YORK  — Mayor de Blasio stated today that the Citi Field immunization station is now operational. The station, which will be run by the NYC Test & Trace Corps, would provide services to qualifying Queens residents as well as priority appointments for TLC and food service employees from all five boroughs.

Mayor Bill de Blasio stated, "It's amazing: the Mets are hitting it out of the park today." "By making Citi Field a vaccine site for Queens citizens and the key heroes who keep our city running, they are stepping up to the plate in a huge manner."

"We're delighted to play a part in our city's recovery and encourage as many people as possible to sign up for the vaccination at Citi Field," Mets Owner and CEO Steve Cohen said. "Let's Go Vaccinated and Let's Go Mets" is the greatest way for us to get back to some kind of routine.

For the first week, 200 appointments will be offered every day, Monday through Saturday, with 100 of those reserved for TLC and food service employees. With more supplies, more days and appointments will be available, with 24-hour service starting next Wednesday. Next week, the station will scale up to provide roughly 4,000 doses, with a maximum capacity of 5,000 doses per day. New Yorkers who are eligible can schedule an appointment online at nyc.gov/vaccinefinder or by calling 877-VAX-4NYC.

"We're continuing to increase our City's large-scale immunization capability, including to neighborhoods impacted hardest by the COVID-19 epidemic," stated Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Melanie Hartzog. "This portal will make it simpler for Queens residents and vital employees to acquire the immunization, such as TLC drivers and restaurant staff." We're also ensuring that as many New Yorkers as possible can be vaccinated as soon as possible by expanding vaccine access through our five-borough network of vaccination locations while also developing confidence through continuous engagement throughout the five boroughs."

"The COVID-19 vaccination must be made available to all New Yorkers as soon as possible, and the launch of this large new location at Citi Field will make that happen."
